The EoF CREATE Non-Extractive Organizations Incubator (NEOi) will be held on Krapanj Island (Croatia) from May 12-18, 2025. This one-week program combines practical startup incubation with the timeless wisdom of Catholic Social Teaching (CST), offering both a hands-on and contemplative “entrepreneurship retreat” for founders.

You will delve into the principles of Non-Extractive Organizations (NEOs), exploring topics like the Silicon Valley model, organic growth vs. hypergrowth, bootstrapping, and sustainable finance. We will apply systems thinking and provide a solid grounding in alternative ownership structures such as Steward Ownership and cooperatives. You will also discover how CST principles like the common good, solidarity, and subsidiarity can shape every aspect of your business.

But it’s not just theory. The incubator offers practical training in Lean Startup, Business Model Canvases, “Mom Testing”, and pitch training. One-on-one startup mentoring and group work will help you turn your ideas into a concrete business plan.

We also aim to cultivate whole entrepreneurs by creating space for personal reflection, daily Mass, meditative practices like the Rosary and Examen, and theological mentoring.

Krapanj is the lowest and smallest inhabited island in Croatia, a true oasis of tranquility just a short boat ride from Šibenik. Known for its centuries-old sponge diving tradition, crystal-clear waters, and charming stone houses, Krapanj offers a perfect retreat from modern life.

To reach Krapanj, follow these simple steps:

• Fly or Drive to Šibenik

The nearest airport is Split Airport (SPU), about 50 km from Šibenik. From there, take a bus, taxi, or rent a car.

If driving, take the A1 highway and exit at Šibenik.

• Go to Brodarica

Brodarica is a small coastal village 7 km south of Šibenik, serving as the departure point for Krapanj.

You can reach Brodarica by car, taxi, or local bus from Šibenik.

• Take the Krapanj Ferry

A small passenger boat departs regularly from Brodarica to Krapanj.

The ride takes just 5 minutes, making it one of the shortest ferry routes in Croatia.

No cars are allowed on Krapanj, so get ready to explore this peaceful island on foot or by bike! 🚤🌊
